We started with one boat, one guide and a belief that Zanzibar deserved better than the crowded standard day trip.
Today we run private island days, mainland safaris, Kilimanjaro treks and honeymoon itineraries. What has not changed is who does the work: Zanzibari guides, Zanzibari boats, Zanzibari families cooking the lunches.
We are a locally owned and operated Zanzibari company. Our guides and crew are paid properly, and when you book with us the money stays largely on the archipelago.

Zanzibar Trip & Relax was created from a genuine connection to Tanzania and a passion for sharing the country in a way that feels personal, professional, and effortless for every traveler. Our story begins in northern Tanzania, near Lake Victoria, where our founder, Gerevas Paulo Mtaki, was born. Born in northern Tanzania near Lake Victoria and with firsthand experience across the country's northern circuit, including Arusha, Serengeti and Ngorongoro, Gerevas brings a deep connection to Tanzania to every journey. After living and working in Zanzibar's hospitality industry, he developed extensive knowledge of the island, its culture, people, experiences and tourism services. Today, he combines his Tanzanian roots, Zanzibar expertise and professional hospitality experience to create well-organized, authentic and memorable journeys for travelers from around the world.
